Managed IT Solutions for Healthcare
Built From the Inside Out.
We didn’t learn healthcare IT from a pitch deck and neither did you. We learned it from the floors, the cutovers and the clinicians counting on us.
From support desk strain to field tech coverage gaps and staff burnout, we’ll connect you with a healthcare‑native expert who can bridge your challenge to the right solution.
We grew up in healthcare IT. We know the pressure, the pace, and the patient impact behind every ticket and every device. If you’re looking for a partner that is transparent, dependable, and easy to work with, you’re in the right place.
THE CHALLENGE WE SOLVE
Healthcare IT teams are being asked to do more with less. More sites. More devices. More patient-facing technology. Often without the budget or staff to keep pace.
Burnout rises. Backlogs grow. Operational risk quietly compounds. Generic IT firms lack clinical depth to make the right impact. Large consulting firms bring large price tags and little accountability.
We built Impulse Strategic Solutions to be the partner we always wished existed when we were on the inside — one that brings healthcare-native expertise, daily transparency, and real ownership to every engagement.
OUR STORY
Two healthcare IT operators. Twenty years of doing the work. A shared belief: service is the differentiator.
Scott Collins and Shawn Boorom didn’t build Impulse Strategic Solutions from a conference room whiteboard. They built it from the floors, the hallways, the go-live war rooms, and the late-night cutovers — two decades of running IT programs inside health systems, supporting clinicians, and fixing the problems that other firms walked away from. Over the years they saw a consistent pattern: the difference between a chaotic project and a successful one was never the slide deck. It was the people and the service culture behind them. In 2014, they founded Impulse with a clear mandate: build the managed IT solutions for healthcare that health systems actually need. Ones that come with clinical fluency, radical transparency, and a service culture grounded in real ownership.“Show up. Be transparent. Deliver exceptional service. And treat every client like a long-term partner — because for us, they are.”
– Scott Collins & Shawn Boorom, Co-Founders

MEET THE FOUNDERS
The people behind the work.
Scott Collins,
CEO & Co-Founder
Scott Collins is a healthcare IT entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience building service organizations that put people first. He co-founded Impulse in 2014 with a clear belief: that the best managed IT solutions for healthcare are built on clinical fluency, genuine service culture, and the kind of transparency that earns long-term trust. As CEO, he leads Impulse’s vision and growth — and stays as close to the work today as he did on day one.
Shawn Boorom,
Co-Founder & COO
Shawn Boorom has spent his career at the intersection of healthcare operations and IT service delivery, building teams and processes that hold up under real clinical pressure. His approach is collaborative by design — working directly with frontline staff, internal stakeholders, and clients to close the gap between strategy and execution. At Impulse, that translates into operations built on accountability, continuous improvement, and a service culture clients can count on every day.
Reliable. Transparent. Healthcare-first.
Let us show you what that means for your organization.
Our approach to managed IT solutions for healthcare is built on decades of provider-side experience — not guesswork. Whether you need a reliable support desk, a PACS migration, or a trusted IT partner who understands clinical environments, we’re here.
FAQ: Managed IT solutions for healthcare
When it comes to managed IT solutions for healthcare, who do you typically work with?
Our clients include rural and community hospitals, PE-backed multi-site physician groups, and enterprise health systems across the country. We work best with organizations that need a reliable, accountable IT partner and not another vendor who shows up for the kickoff and disappears during execution. We grow selectively and build relationships that are built to last.
Why choose Impulse Strategic Solutions over a generalist IT managed services provider?
Healthcare IT isn’t general IT with a different logo on the door. HIPAA compliance, EHR integrations, clinical workflow requirements, and patient safety considerations create a level of complexity that generalist providers consistently underestimate. Impulse was built specifically for this environment; founded and led by operators who spent decades inside health systems before they ever sold a managed service. That’s not a marketing angle. It’s just where we come from.
Do you work with all EHR platforms?
Yes. Impulse supports all major EHR and patient portal platforms including but not limited to Epic MyChart, Oracle Health (formerly Cerner), and eClinicalWorks with the same depth of platform expertise you’d expect from a much larger firm. The difference is you’re not paying for the overhead that comes with one, and you’re not getting handed off to a junior team once the contract is signed.
What certifications does Impulse hold?
Impulse holds ISO 9001, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and SOC 2 certifications. For clients in regulated industries, that means working with a partner who meets the security, compliance, and quality standards your organization requires without having to ask twice.
What does "advisory embedded in delivery" mean in practice?
Most consulting firms charge separately for strategy and execution. You get advice in one engagement and delivery in another. At Impulse, advisory is built into the work itself. Our team leads don’t just execute tasks; they surface risks early, flag process gaps, and bring recommendations in real time. You get the benefit of experienced counsel without paying an extra layer of overhead for it.
